A new TV advertisement for VM's Tivo box starring David Tennant and Richard Branson has been shelved following a complaint from the BBC.

Surprised there wasn't also a complaint from a certain Mr Michael Oldfield! Has Branson never heard Music From The Balcony?

Virgin also announced today they're to have the 24 SD/HD channels and catchup for the Olympics. Suspect the deal was done at the same time as Sky but delayed announcement for maximum publicity.

Talking of promotion in ads, what's the deal with the BBC (logo and homepage) being quite prominently featured in the Internet Explorer 9 advert? Would Microsoft need to seek permission, could the BBC have been courting for the free promotion?
