Virgin Media Ireland launch

Less than it used to be I believe - at one stage all sports on ITV4 were blocked but that’s not the case any more.

Of course, cable companies in Ireland carried UTV from the launch of cable TV up until 31st December 2014, while VM still carried ITV2 up until after they bought UTV Ireland, at while point a whole pile of ITV2 programmes started to air on what was then still 3e, and they decided to drop ITV2.

I assume when Irish customers add in ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 on their Sky boxes, the sport is not blocked? As they are just getting the network feed, and not a special feed delivered by a cable company?

The channels aren’t encrypted on Satellite. So it would be impossible to stop the Republic receiving the full feed.
