It's been 25 hours approx since they updated the website and when I go to play back the News, I get adverts for shows on TV3 and 3 player.

Well Virgin Media have kept the usual laziness of TV3 then. It seems Irish television is operated by one or two people and that is it. I know money is tight for the Irish networks, but both RTE and TV3 (now Virgin) are totally useless at presentation, playout, technical issues etc.

The laziness is always there, it is a symptom going back to RTE days, where it took them until 1989 before they managed to start their schedules at around noon each day. Yes, even countries less well off than Ireland had a better television hours than RTE back then.

Maybe Virgin Media will take the hint from viewers and try to recover this botched unnecessary relaunch.

Are they ever gonna have another ident for VM One?
It's kinda silly for them to use that overused umbrellas one tbh

I mean, the Virgin presentation isn't horrible to me...

But then again I liked ITV's 2006 look, so I'm not really qualified to judge.

It appears when Virgin Mobile was purchased from Virgin Group by Flextech to create Virgin Media a licensing deal was struck to continue using the Virgin brand, but I suspect this has restrictions?

Yet oddly, when they rebranded Ftn in the UK as Virgin1 back in 2007 there didn't seem to be any restriction on the use of the name.

It was subsequently only rebranded again as Channel One when BSkyB (as was) purchased it as part of the Living TV Group.

The use of the prefix 'Virgin Media x' seems cumbersome, to say the least. As others have suggested, I suspect they will colloquially become either 'Virgin x' or 'VM x'

Branson even appeared in the launch video for Virgin 1.

Virgin 1 had a separate licensing agreement with Virgin Group.

The BBC seem to have forgot about the rebrand on today's Points of View. *
EDIT: They might have recorded it before the rebrand 😂
Ittr and London Lite gave kudos

Watching the HD versions of Virgin Media Two and Three just now, the DOGs have shrunk, but are now being played during commercial breaks. Can't confirm for VM1 at the moment as they don't use the channel DOG during the news.

Noticed a new Virgin Media One ident before Gogglebox Ireland last night. A mountain scene with walkers and red carpet spreading across the landscape.

The second Virgin Media One ident. Video uploaded to Presentation Archive, available here. Not quite as good as the original which had the logo tracked and integrated into the scene, in this ident the logo simply lowers from the top of the scene.
