Note that virginone.co.uk is for a completely different product than virgin1.co.uk - which makes the choice of title questionable at best!

Haha! Trust you to spot something like that Simon.

According to a DS forum member, the Virgin 1 advert will air today at the times/channels on this link: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=661673

Just seen it, Right to weigh this up

Virgin 1 has The Sarah Connor Cronicles and erm, erm, erm... and

meanwhile Sky 1 has The Simpsons, Brainiac, Lost, Road Wars, Bones and the brand new Futurama episodes..... Sorry virgin you lost again, but I'm with sky and therefore get Virgin 1 and the sarah connor cronicles I get the best of both words Razz

Edit: Just a strand of hope but about 2 years ago FTN repeated all the Bob & Maragret episodes. So here's me hoping with it's re-generation into a new channel fingers crossed they get another airing in the dead hours somewhere. (and I'll be ready with the dvd recorder)

Well believe it or not but Channel 4 still show this on random nights in the wee small hours. I saw it a few weeks ago at about 3.30 even complete with a coloured blocks '4' logo endboard.

With ABC1 being closed down does anyone think that Virgin and Disney will come to some sort of agreement so that Virgin 1 can operate 24 hours on Freeview. ABC1 only operates 6am to 6pm whilst FTN/V1 operates 6pm to 6am!!!!!!! - seems logical to me, but hey what do I know!!!!!!

I suppose Virgin could buy the slot off them and stick UKTV Bright Ideas on there. Question is, will Disney want to keep the slot for something else?

I'd rather a 24-7 UKTV G2 rather than a 24-7 Virgin 1.

But the question is will ABC1 want to let somebody else air for 24hours, when that is what they were after from freeview.

Been a while for anything new to show up in VM land but is the current loop on Virgin iD (ch. 999) new or just old news? Last I remember was the one including the JK & Joel segueways.

WTF wouldn't they? Either (a) they launch something else into a slot they shut a channel down over (b) they sit on a very expensive slot until their contract for it runs out, or (c) they sub-let it to someone else and try and get as much of their money back as possible.

They're a business. If they go for (c), they'll go for whoever gets/saves them the most dosh (which might even be to just surrender it if they can get a pro rata rebate). (a)'s possible, but unlikely given how little they like the slot. (b) is not an option.

It appears that Virgin are directly selling their products in the shops, as I couldn't help but notice today that in Liverpool City Centre there was a sign saying Virgin Media Store coming soon, which was quite near to Currys Digital too. It's interesting that they're doing this as Cable has always usually sold itself over the Phone or the Net, where as in the last year Currys have started selling Cable aswell.
