Absolutely, mine is truly painful just changing channels and stuff. If I could press a button that switches off all the pointless guff like interactive and just lets me change channel in less than 3 seconds I'd be happy.

There are times when it is so unresponsive that it is impossible to type in a 3 digit channel code because it times out before I've finished (so if I'm typing 101 it'll try to go to channel 10 then channel 1... SO annoying!!).

Are you joking? Mine's crawling as it is, I can't believe it's gonna go much slower!

Well, under the VM engine, the channel changes are soooo sloooow, but the menus open and run very quickly - and I can change channel while it's starting up, which is something I couldn't do with the NTL software.

Whenever I press On Demand the screen goes black while its loading. Dunno why I bother anyway, nothing's been uploaded since before April.

The menu's are really slow, especially Interactive, though I don't use that anymore. It was slower than dial-up internet access.

That whole "I can change channels during startup" is a complete placebo, the fact is that your box is locked up for a much longer period than before only allowing you to switch about willy-nilly when the CR3 software would have done it's main duty and let that happen anyway.

it's all a bit pants, this new software isn't it? Still blame the codebase they use.

VM continues to lose customers:

Trivial, most of the losses according to the article came through phone subscribers cancelling, most likely through lack of ADSL.

Anyway, I for one can say that I really don't miss those channels at all even though I figured I might.

Likewise, especially as I've now got more channels and unlimited phone for less than I was paying previously, in order to keep my custom. There wasn't enough on Sky One for me to consider switching & it would have been a a pain to switch to BT (in order to get the unlimited phone).

All I got was £10 off my TV bill, really should have gunned for the extra channels and mid-tier internet... still time.

But surely cable broadband is better than ADSL? Why would lack of ADSL (which of course cable companies don't need) be a drive away from cable phones.

Incidently, I'm about to switch my phone from BT to Virgin, discovered that it will only cost me £2 extra

Me neither, of the three I only really watched Sky News and that was going downhill fast

The catch-up TV service on my box sucks. It never works first time and last night failed to start at all meaning I've yet to see the Apprentice from Wednesday.

The banner on the screen prompts me to call 151 to report the fault, but they are hopelessly slow at answering the calls.

I've not yet managed to negotiate a discount for the loss of channels because I can never get through to the call centre.

Its a bad state of affairs, and I'm beginning to become a very disgruntled customer.

Finally, after saying in this thread weeks ago that On Demand was not working, and nothing at all from April had been added, meaning that I missed the last two episodes of Life On Mars, it now works. I've still missed all the stuff from April however. There's a new series of menus to work thorugh, but there seems to be more content.

Top-tier cable broadband is at 10Mb currently, some ADSL providers give upto 25Mb services though it's completely possible to pipe somewhere like 70Mb+ through cable and will be going upto 25Mb at some point in the future for top-tier. Case in point, people are stupid and gullible.

Still? Oh, I dunno, Fox News UK in the shape of Sky News seems imminent doesn't it?

Don't call, best thing is to merely pull the box power for 20 seconds or so then reboot, usually sorts stuff out but remember, the software underlying the whole kaboodle is hopeless at best due to box limitations.
