There are two faults with your arguement:
TV companies are there to make money. It is irrelevent which country the company is based in. Basically Five is owned by a German company (RTL), but they have still tried to improve the channel for the UK audience because it's in their interest to do so.
Multi-national companies are the way the world has been going for a while. They aren't owned by a single person - that's why they have thousands of shareholders. Are you branding all share-holders "greedy people"?
