Live Roulette starts again on Virgin 1 from midnight tomorrow night / Wednesday morning! I know a lot of you aren't going to be happy about that, but I am!

Haha, I'm in the same boat. The one program I was hoping for! Also, I'm Freeview only so I'll never be able to see it (6pm-6am)

Virgin 1 is available 24hrs on Freeview, not just the old 6pm-6am hours of Ftn. I can only assume the former timeshare has changed to that BrightIdeas is now using the space freed by abc1 to allow for 24hr coverage, until next week when the UKTV channels switch. The 7 day EPG confirms this, or atleast leasts programmes for the morning on Freeview.
I'm pretty certain that this isn't the case, and that no changes to the timeshare have taken place. Virgin 1 is launching as a 12 hour channel on Freeview.

Virgin 1 will only be on Freeview from 6pm-6am.

Just because the EPG has the programmes listed from 6am-6pm doesn't mean they will broadcast on Freeview. No deals have been made for the old abc1 slot as far as anyone knows.

A trailer has now started up on Freeview.

Reboot
Promo reel's started with a countdown clock beside the channel DOG in the top left. The DOG's in 4:3, but the program trailers (including 4:3-sourced stuff like the Star Treks) are all cropped to 16:9 letterbox.

It seems to be a mix of cropped, squashed, and letterboxed - either way, perhaps VMTV are waking up to the fact that people have widescreen TVs and might actually want to use them. I never could work out why they didn't make the move when they moved to the Broadcast Centre - the fact that this is merely letterboxed indicates that it's not happened yet, but perhaps they're thinking about it.

There was the problem of all their master tapes being 4:3 Moving buildingis one thing, re-editting/mastering all the programmes is another matter!

True, but I believe even new commissions and acquisitions end up on server as 14L12; and that's a whole year's worth now.

I don't think that's anything more than speculation. I've seen nothing anywhere which confirms this is the case.

Anyway - the launch of Virgin 1 or the first night of Channel 4. I know which I'm opting for, and I imagine most people around here will be making the same choice.

I was being sarcastic.
