Sky One without the The Simpsons = White Elephant. Seriously tho I'm a Brainiac fan and was very p**sed off when the plug was pulled on Test Tube Baby.

To go off-topic for a second or two, Test Tube Baby was a Brainiac spin-off and it wasn't really all that good anyway compared to Brainiac itself. Probably because it was live, it didn't have the variety of stuff that Brainiac does, though customary blowing up of caravans and microwaves still featured.

oh and we must avoid using "V1" as its a bit tumble tower.

There haven't been any more episodes of Test Tube Baby since Virgin Media binned Sky One has there?

Errr, no. VM did NOT bin Sky One. Sky took the decision to pull their channels off VM. It was NOT the other way round.

It was Murdoch being a jealous greedy c**t (as usual) realising Sky finally had a decent big name competitor.

I assume Virgin 1 with just replace fTN on Sky will it? Or is this spat going to continue and I'll have to watch it on Freeview (if it's any good)

It unfair really to compare a channel like Virgin 1 with a channel like Sky One that has been around for over 10 years. As someone who only has freeview i only look forward to it as anything is better than FTN

So does anyone remember how Sky1 started all those years ago??? Repeats of TJ Hooker, Hart to Hart and anything else that was slightly successful from the US and was a plain old repeat. The only "new" shows they had at the time was 21 Jump Street, Love at First SIght/THe Price is RIght.

It took Sky almost a decade to get itself sorted towhat it more or less what it is today, so I will be giving Virgin 1 (V1) a chance - sure it will be starting off dire and slow but it will/could be a true competitive force against Sky1 in the near future.

The point has to be made as well that Sky 1 was at its most successful when putting out nothing but US imports.

Their market share has been falling almost as fast as ITV's in the intervening years!! Laughing

Well its neither way round really. Sky decided to put the price of their basic channels up, and Virgin Media decided not to pay.

Virgin Media seem to have decided to put the cash into developing their own channels, e.g. Virgin 1, which to an extent makes sense for them. We'll see if their strategy pays off, and the advertising income flows into Virgin 1.

Nope. There was suppost to be a 2nd series of TTB this year but it never happened. There was a new 12 episode series of Science Abuse tho now hosted by Vic Reeves who I was better at it than I thought he would be but not as good as Hammond.

Come back to merely bitch at Virgin Media at large because they took away your precious Brainiac? Please.

You go and enjoy Eastenders, Big Brother or whatever it is you enjoy watching

Also Sky One has the new episodes of Futurama (I'm told) even so 'might' download them, (Depending on durtion of wait)

They'll be out on DVD long before they appear on TV, since they are just DVD exclusive movies, cut into 3 episode sized chunks each for ease of broadcast
