I'm not sure if this should be in the official Virgin Media thread or not but all I can say is that it's going to be shít. So much for programmes from Challenge Living and Bravo... I've seen fcuk all from them channels on Virgin 1 so far!
It has the Sarah Connor Cronicles... which depending on how long the delay from its US to the UK airing is*. I'll just download anyway. Sky One still wins ....
*If its like a couple of weeks i will wait for the Virgin 1 screening. If its like 4-6 months. I'll download em
It unfair really to compare a channel like Virgin 1 with a channel like Sky One that has been around for over 10 years. As someone who only has freeview i only look forward to it as anything is better than FTN
It really isn't that difficult to produce a decent channel based on acquisitions if you have enough money behind it. There are so many quality products coming out of the US, Canada, Aus etc that are tucked away on obscure channels (Hallmark, FX etc) that it's hard not to get it right quite honestly.
Just make sure they keep em coming, and make the channel widescreen at least, and the name will carry it well, especially on Freeview.
Come five years' time when everyone is viewing digitally, and this will be wiping the floor with Sky One, seeing as Sky seem to have no real interest in developing a proper FTA channel.
Every chance this will end up being the sixth national, given the backing behind it.
Sky One without the The Simpsons = White Elephant. Seriously tho I'm a Brainiac fan and was very p**sed off when the plug was pulled on Test Tube Baby. Also Sky One has the new episodes of Futurama (I'm told) even so 'might' download them, (Depending on durtion of wait)
Look so many people are always anti-sky all the time but at the end of the day FTA does not cater for those of us with minority interests. You want to see the latest episodes of 'popular US series x' ASAP (and legally) well then you just have to pay for it.
Ps, I see their marketing 'V1' as 'No Soaps' when only a few weeks ago they were going to show old Brookside episodes on it. Obviously they got tossed out for a better marketing ploy.

old brookside is on tv choice on demand. why would they need it on v1 ?
