I'm sorry to see Bravo as a brand disappear, but good for those of us viewing on Virgin Media, as it frees up 5 EPG slots, and when they're having to move channels to the lower end because of HD variants launching, its good for viewers to have the right channels nearer to each other.

Sky are going to have an absolute abundance of empty streams/EPG slots come January though - all the Real Lives, Bravo, Channel One and Travel slots no less. I reckon Sky 1+1, Sky 2+1, Living Loves+1, Challenge 2 and Challenge 2+1 are the replacements.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sky moves Sky1 HD and Living HD into Channel One's vacated EPG slots to give them more prominence.

I don't think they'll move Living HD - Living is on 112, and Living HD is on 224. To destroy such a wonderful numerical relationship would be a travesty.

Either that, or they will move it.

Don't forget that 112 and 113 were Challenge and Challenge +1 before FTN (or was it Virgin 1 by then) took the slots so there is some history of channel swapping going on. Mind you, that was under different management.

I remember Challenge and Challenge+1 being on 121 and 122 respectively?

For some reason or other VMTV launched a timeshift of FTN just a few months before it closed - that's probably the point FTN took that slot.

According to posts on another forum Bravo and Channel 1 end on 3 Jan 2011.

That recreates the problem mentioned earlier with Star Trek Voyager which will then be halfway through the final series.

And they are promoting Hawaii 5 - 0 as starting soon on Bravo but they will never show the first series if the above is true. Surely they should move that series before it starts to Sky 1 HD and not shift it half way through?

There are probably some regular Bravo viewers who aren't regular Sky One viewers so it might be better for Sky to start it on Bravo and then move it half way through the series and give the (ex)Bravo viewers a reason to look at the Sky One schedule and hopefully (for Sky) stick around.

It's only a problem if there is a viewer who missed the previous 23 airings of the final series of Voyager. Wink

If my understading of the situation is correct, Sky don't take control of advertising until January, so any content up to that point is 'spoken for' by IDS.

I'm pretty sure there was something showing on FTN which didn't quite get a chance to finish so they showed it on a late night slot on Virgin1 a couple of weeks in?
