I don't, Thank God.
I just think they look like chavs. Maybe I am wrong but it's the Fred Perry-esque striped jumper on one, the diamond enblazed jumper on another, the "walk" of the guy on very left towards screen, complete with shirt hanging out from under jumper and the fact all heads visible are shaved

Oi! A shaved head does not a chav make!

Eugh. Just heard the new Tumbler music at the 8pm junction. Much prefered the original version! This one seems completely out-of-touch with what's going on in the ident: too fast, not punchy enough!

It's the bad attitude, and the anti-social behavior that defines a chav much more than the clothes and the music they listen to. The clothes are partly borrowed from Hip Hop, but it doesn't mean that they should be confused with breakdancers or whatever.
The thing I've not said yet, the ident has a bit of breakdancing in it, but there are other things thrown into it too. Breaking is usually done on the spot, rather than travelling along the street, and doesn't make use of objects. It's like a cross between breaking and 'Jump Britain'. Anybody know what this sort of 'dance' (for want of a better word) is?

I think you're right with the "free running" theme, so I suppose it's a break-freestyling fusion for want of a better word. Is "tumbling" a dance?

Yet again, someone forgetting that the theme is actually much more general: Movement.

Well, I suppose this 'tumbling' is a physical activity rather than a dance. Not all these idents feature dances. Skateboarding is not a dance, it's a physical activity, as is capoeira.
'BBC1 physical activity idents' doesn't have the same ring to it as 'BBC1 dancers' though!

You've taken too much notice of the comment next to the file on TV Ark. Simon L has gotten Chavs mixed up with Breakdancers somehow. Probably not his fault though, a lot of people are misunderstanding what a chav is at the moment. I've mentioned it on the TV Ark forum.
There are no chavs in this ident, there are breakdancers (or actors pretending to be breakdancers), and most people into breakdancing are either into underground or oldskool Hip Hop, or Funk. Just because chavs listen to RnB and Gangster rap, it doesn't mean they can breakdance, or have anything to do with breakdancing.
Of course, I'm sure there is at least one Burberry wearing little skamp out there that can breakdance, just to prove me wrong.
I don't like the ident, because it's the same as the Skateboarders one, it's Loraine H, trying to show how hip and trendy she is(n't).
It's true; these lads aren't chavs. Chavs hang around in hoodies and burburry (sp?) drinking cider and bacardi breezers whilst daring one of the clan to come and annoy me by getting 10 menthol fags or something cheap with no form of ID, looking all of about 12.

Chavs/charvers/spides/kevs pïss me off completely - try Cecimoz and download a couple of their flash animations. They're hilarious - you'll need speakers or headphones though. Better nick them from another chav or sell your baby.

Thought it was Croydon now....
SE London is full of them!
