Just seen it, looks quite poor to me, and I'm not keen on the music at all.

What does everyone else think?

Did they change the soundtrack on it? When I first saw it, it didn't sound like the generic BBC 1 ident theme, but I saw it again last night, and the soundtrack sounded different, a lot better. Maybe it was just me.

I agree it is quite poor, but all BBC1 presentation is poor IMO. The idents are a bit boring and dated now.

Yes, the music is definitely different. Would someone in the know care to explain why?

I gather from a friend in the press office in resembled something to much like an original artist piece, i.e. just changed the tempo, or bass.
Im sure someone in the know will more than happly correct me if im wrong.
And as for the above message I have to agree, BBC One's presentation is rubbish, the idents, are shall we say "Unimaginative" and the whole operation quite hits with senior management, LORRAINE!, although in what place the "S" should go is entirly optional. Rolling Eyes

Is this music different from, say, the versions on The TV Room/TV Ark etc?

Yes, it is. How many days did that music last before it was changed?

One day. It was launched on Tuesday morning, and replaced on Wednesday morning.

No real idea why, but the two soundtracks are so different, I can't help wondering if several were produced and a choice made, but the wrong one distributed. Certainly the new soundtrack is 'lighter' than the old one and would probably have worked better for the launch, stretching as it did through almost the entire daytime BBC ONE schedule on Tuesday.

You've taken too much notice of the comment next to the file on TV Ark. Simon L has gotten Chavs mixed up with Breakdancers somehow. Probably not his fault though, a lot of people are misunderstanding what a chav is at the moment. I've mentioned it on the TV Ark forum.

There are no chavs in this ident, there are breakdancers (or actors pretending to be breakdancers), and most people into breakdancing are either into underground or oldskool Hip Hop, or Funk. Just because chavs listen to RnB and Gangster rap, it doesn't mean they can breakdance, or have anything to do with breakdancing.

Of course, I'm sure there is at least one Burberry wearing little skamp out there that can breakdance, just to prove me wrong.

I don't like the ident, because it's the same as the Skateboarders one, it's Loraine H, trying to show how hip and trendy she is(n't).

All this stuff is being discussed in another forum thread about the new BBC idents.

It's true; these lads aren't chavs. Chavs hang around in hoodies and burburry (sp?) drinking cider and bacardi breezers whilst daring one of the clan to come and annoy me by getting 10 menthol fags or something cheap with no form of ID, looking all of about 12.
