have i missed something here? does katherine have aspergers syndrome?

I think she fakes it to get more money out of the DSS.

Rolling Eyes

Now that is just plain ignorance! You've just implied that all AS sufferers are spongers. If I were you I wouldn't go anywhere near Boston for a while - not unless you fancy incurring the full wrath of Miss Birkett....

Sufferers are born with it from birth, there is no question of it being faked.

its not ignorance, i think all of the wry comments posted in this thread prove that while aspergers isn’t something to be ashamed of, it really isn’t something any of us care about/respect.

You've hit the nail on the head there. The very fact that people don't give a stuff about Aspies means that it's not an issue here. Sure, there are pokes and fun is made now and again, but there *is* an underlying respect for the suffering that those who have it go through.

I recall reading something that Katherine sent me ages ago saying that people with Aspies often couldn't discern between tongue in cheek humour and straight opinion/facts. Couldn't that just be what's in play here? I think I speak for all of us on here when I say....

WE DON'T CARE. BUT THAT'S NOT A BAD THING

Got it in one, Sput. It's one of the most frustrating aspects of the condition.
TBH, it's only in certain elements of "social interaction" where AS rears its ugly head. As long as we're accepted for what we are, that will do me.

It appears, from posts in this thread, that we have more than a handful of sufferers from this condition on this forum.

Why, I'm therefore tempted to question, do we only have it rammed down our throats by ONE of them?

Well I came here to read and discuss television presentation surprisingly, which as far as I'm aware is not a neurological disorder!

Meanwhile, back at the subject, we don't get to find out who wins until tomorrow at 15:35, because the flamin' Beeb have decided that some stupid football match is more important than general entertainment AGAIN.

Why, oh WHY, can't sport be left on specialist sports channels where it belongs?

Indeed.

I shall now have to tape Mastermind tomorrow because I'll be over on Sky watching the cricket.

or indeed, just as others have obsessive hobbies such as computers or collecting obscure objects, katherine's obsession is telling people about all the things which are wrong with her.

also, i'm not entirely sure people on this forum write "crap" about asperger's syndrome - are you able to provide the forum with any examples?

Maybe we should write the non-tongue in cheek stuff in a different colour as that is the minorty round here
