ITV 3 have shown Victoria's "An Audience With..." at least twice now since she died. I imagine it will go out again soon or it is available on ITV Hub for anyone that missed it. Housewife, 49 also went out the same evening.
This is my problem with broadcasters, like when Cilla died, ITV cashed in by showing endless programmes about her. IMO it was disrespectful. Of course you need a tribute show, but it was too soon and went on for too long.

First time I've ever read that doing a tribute programme is disrespectful, there are usually complaints when they don't do one.
Not tribute "programme". I mean the endless shows and reruns of anything to do with Cilla. ITV cashing in on a death.

Could you give us some examples?

It's ITV, anything it runs will be "cashed in" regardless of who's in it or whether they're deceased or not.
By your logic when somebody dies they should never be seen again on TV. That would practically (and ironically) kill ITV3 in one fell swoop...

I don't agree with it being disrespectful, in the same way I feel ITV's repeat of the Hillsborough drama was more of a tribute than a cash-in (I don't even think there were any adverts) but I did find the airing of Surprise Surprise on ITV3 to be quite strange. Not only was it hardly publicised but it was an episode that never aired.

If they were cashing in on it they'd have been advertising it heavily. I certainly knew nothing of ITV3 airing it until it was mentioned here so that clearly hasn't been the case - just a shame really they didn't find a slot for it on ITV - not to cash in but to allow a wider audience to remember her at her best.

Cilla was rewarded very handsomely by ITV over the years, and they are more than entitled to make money from repeating programmes she featured in. Also, I'm sure Cilla's estate will not go without compensation, either through royalties of the songs used in the biopic, or indirectly due to increased album sales as a result of the series being reaired.
