The difficult subjects are those that don't have anything "in the can" already. The Jill Dando tribute that aired at 2130 on the day she was killed was an extremely quick edit - from what I recall it was Des Lynam introducing a number of lengthy extracts from programmes she presented. As mentioned here a number times, apparently the edit were still rewinding the tape as the balloon symbol was on air introducing the programme!
I'm not saying a new programme should be hastily made right away. I'd just like to think, at some point in the near future, she'd get a proper tribute like what Smith and Mayall got.
When Wendy Richard died the BBC had a pre-prepared tribute programme which aired on the same day. In the aftermath of the Saville affair, Danny Cohen did say the BBC don't make pre-prepared tribute programmes as they can date immediately.
I'd rather the BBC take the time to make a tribute and properly research the archive.
I also find it quite frustrating that immediate reports of the death of public figures are so reliant on celebrity tweets when many of Victoria's peers should have so much more substantial things to say that an indingtuishable 140 character tweet.
I hope the BBC do repeat Pat & Magaret which has only been shown a couple of times and I hope they show it in HD as it was originally shot on film.

Surely that's the point - rather than doorstepping or telephoning celebrities for an indistinguishable four-second quote, they can now put their own quote out within minutes. The celebrities can then make a more substantial statement or interview at a later date.
I didn't know there was another Acorn Antiques episode!! I knew of ASOT, Mrs Overall's return in All Day Breakfast, and 'Sketch Show Story' - but never seen this!

Although it helps if they actually bother to verify Twitter accounts. GMB quoted a Julie Walters fan account and attributed it to her.
