While we are on the subject of getting rid of unwated television related tat memorabilia. Is anyone interested in this unused Avago calendar from 2004?

This is a collectors item as Avago doesn't exist anymore and this even has their old channel number on the front (Channel 235).

Bidding for this unique item starts at £150.

I also have another copy that has been signed by Alan Ennis (currently a presenter on Live Roulette TV)
Bidding for this unique item starts at 15p.

In case you can't see it in the picture, he has written "David from [signiture]" .

This item would be ideal for someone called David and/or someone with access to a time machine.

Is the lovely Cat Porter in that? Or am I thinking of something else. If she's in it, I'll request just that month.

While we're on the subject of VHS tapes.. what is the best method of cleaning them up? I've got so many that are going mouldy and also if I leave a tape in the VCR, that seems to damage it.

If I have a mouldy tape to transfer, I just fast forward and rewind a few times, as that seems to shake the worst off. Be prepared to clean the heads after each pass, though. Maybe it might be worth taking the cassette apart and blowing on the reels to see if that helps before you get going.

I think even the VCR Cleaning Cassette's knackered now.

You don't use one of those, do you? Horrible abrasive things, and more likely to damage the heads than do any good. What you need are the chamois-tipped head-cleaning sticks from Maplin and a small bottle of isopropyl alcohol. Hold the stick steady and move the head drum back and forth.

The Smarter thing for him to do is convert them to DVD and send them out to everyone that wonted a copy plus cost of Disk? £5?

Yes. My copy of the 1994 central idents package is very dodgy to say the least, and would like a replacement! Oh well....

I myself have got some of these lying about and have intended to make use of it in this way. Though there's not much that can be done about heads that have succumbed to past wear Mad , I ought to get round to cleaning the head of my Beta to see if it does give any benefits...

Watch out that the head cleaning sticks haven't started to degrade if you have had them for a while, I've heard that they can cause more damage if they are old!
