TTTV: 1993 ident and news ending

Hilarious! The Tyne Tees tape actually starts with a VT clock on a blackboard, with chalked up programme/take number! I've never seen anyone else do this!

Well for 1983 not that uncommon, but 1993 is another matter!

Somewhere on a tape deeply hidden away I have footage of two people, a bald woman and a man with a funky red mohican making up the Meridian logo with their own faces - so surreal! I really hope I can find that tape.

For some reason I have an extremely vivid recollection of that - I'm not from the Meridian area but it immediately rang a bell. Maybe I viewed a clip once and have forgotten exactly where I saw it?

- TVS: channel launch in 1982 and 90s network promo

Meh. Tyne Tees were still using old-style slates in 20 03!!!

I believe they STILL use them for the weather forecasts! It's quicker for them to do it this way, so they told me.

While we're on the subject of VHS tapes.. what is the best method of cleaning them up? I've got so many that are going mouldy and also if I leave a tape in the VCR, that seems to damage it. I think even the VCR Cleaning Cassette's knackered now.

The sooner ION release this VHS to PC machine the better!

I'd say your best bet is to get a reasonably priced DVD Recorder sharpish, I got one they're great.

If you need another VHS player/recorder sainsbury's had them for £34, well my local did anyway

But then that all depends on your financial situation.

The Smarter thing for him to do is convert them to DVD and send them out to everyone that wonted a copy plus cost of Disk? £5?

Yeah they are great but I have an LG DVDR and it's so hypersensitive to the tape noise I often end up having to unplug the damn thing as it freezes up. I've got a scart (VCR) to scart (DVDR) situation going on atm.
