Apparently VH2 is to be axed on the 1st August and replaced by an interactive channel called 'MTV Flux' from 6th September.
The channel is due to have uploaded videos from viewers, allows them to be part of an "online interactive community" and to control their own TV channel.
Very bad move - VH2 was one of the few decent music channels around (along with The Amp which also closed).
VH2 is certainly one of the best music chanels about, and there are plenty more that could have gone instead.
Having said that, I used to watch VH2 religiously but have found myself tuning away in favour of MTV2. Whether that's because of my musical choice or whether VH2 got a bit boring, I don't know, but the two channels overlap just a little bit.
Mtv Flux will be MTV's crack at Myspace and Bebo with the ability to set up your own website and select your Favourite songs, this is a playlist and then MTV Flux will spew out wiewers playlists and sometimes their own home movies at random on Digital TV

Im starting to get really sick of bebo, you get all your friends and then what, start sending chain-mail like if you don't open this your only soul mate will die in 1 minute crap
Although millions will disagree, Im happy VH2 is going because personally, I cannot stand the music played on there. Bad enough with just MTV2* and Kerrang.
*One thing, why is it MTV2 doesn't get named after it's genre like the others do.. "MTV Rock"?
Shame that of all the MTV channels to fall under the axe, it has to be one of the ones which had a decent playlist - I would have thought the likely candidate to sacrifice would be MTV Hits (or TMF, and put a channel that shows a broad selection of interviews and NO celebrity stuff on Freeview instead).
MTV2 is such called because it is based on MTV US's alternative music channel, M2. Indeed, the channel's original name when it launched on SkyDigital was M2, but changed to MTV2 in c.2000.

Gone are the days when i could have a good singalong with those cheesy pop bands - i mean come on you dont need to be 9 or 10 to listen to them. Most people i know, know one cheesy song and there always played at parties, new year ect.
These "we are real bands because we play the guitar" are getting on my nerves, there has been an influx of them, loads of them - the Top 40 is rubbish now, stoped listening when Mark Goodier finished doing it. Dont get me wrong i dont mind some songs from Keane, Coldplay and a few others, but a lot of them really do think they are something special.
Sorry to rant on, i dont think many will notice VH2 going - i mean what is there..about 20odd music channels plus hundreds of radio stations to listen too.
