Hand jive at the end of Blockbusters? I don't remember that. Who does? Anyone who does remember it - did you join in with it whilst watching?

Not every episode, think it was the last one of the week.... although due to the random scheduling across the regions it did appear on diffrent days

<useless fact>
The stone looking sculptures from the set of Blockbusters were on display on the walls of the studios in Nottingham until they were sold </useless fact>

Just as I guessed, the Central ident. The correct period ident for once, the one where it revolved to form a rainbow at the left edge, used from around mid 1983, which corresponds with when Blockbusters began.

Remember the first Central ident in 1982, where the ball split in half and reassembled? That would have been too soon for tonight's show.

I would have prefered the cake ident myself, as the one used tonight will probably be used again on the Bullseye edition

Nice to see the Central ident rendered into proper 16:9 (rather than during Ant & Dec's GM where the sphere and CENTRAL text were in different aspect ratios), and faded into the Blockbusters "city space" titles as it did until 1988.

The mock-up game board looks naff though! The font is close enough to the actual font used, but there's no border to the hexagonal cells, and the flashing animations are a bit faster as the old projector boards.

Funny to see Andrea Catherwood get the easy questions wrong. At least the Gold Run questions are more representative of typical questions from the series.

Good to see a clip of Tickle as a contestant with his twin brother in 1991, and a relief the clip of the girls from my old school who answered "Kama Sutra" to a "What K?" question wasn't shown Wink

Regarding Blankety Blank next week, I have a feeling the set-up may be Wogan era; I wonder if we could see a 1974-1981 or 1981-1985 BBC1 globe?

Great to see that Central ident at the start tonight. Really enjoyed watching Blockbusters again.

I'm sure it's been recorded already, but I wonder who the panellists on Blankety Blank will be next week.

It would be great if some of the regular panellists who are still with us from the Wogan/Dawson eras are involved in the show next week - the likes of Mollie Sugden or Lorraine Chase. Would also be nice to see Sherrie Hewson on the panel as well, she was quite entertaining in the Savage era.

I too noticed the game board cells looked a bit plain compared to the ones used in the Blockbusters era (1983 -1993). They could have represented the original board more closely.

Doubt it, surely the BBC won't allow their globe on ITV1. Since Blankety Blank was made by Thames after it moved from BBC to ITV, I bet we'll see a Thames skyline ident. Not the ideal match - it is the correct Thames ident for when Blankety Blank was hosted by Terry Wogan and Les Dawson late 1970s to mid 1980s, but ages out of date for when Lily Savage's Blankety Blank finally appeared as a series on ITV in 2001.
