Their going for Hard Shocked

Ooh, are they now?! Wink Laughing Would you care to rephrase that?!

Actually, a few of the uses of the word "hard" last night bordered* on innuendo. Perhaps they should've favoured "difficult". (*no pun intended)

And when Ben Shepherd's wife/girlfriend (?) said something about Ben making her "come on this" (i.e. appear on the programme) it sounded dodgy too. Confused

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PS:
Their = a form of the possessive case of "they", used as an attributive adjective, before a noun (e.g. "their home")
They're = contraction of "they are".

(I hope this is helpful) Smile

Vernon really is a better gameshow host than he is a DJ. He's the 21st centuries Brucie.

Bens G/F is very pretty and has lovely teeth and hair.

Quite agree with you, I prefer Vernon to Brucie actually (I'll be probably burned to the stake for saying that)-- although I have nothing against Brucie.

I somehow didn't doubt that Ben wouldn't have a minger of a wife. Makes you sick doesn't it Wink

When they did the nostalgia bit of Mr & Mrs at the top of the show, did they mention Julian Clary's version Laughing Thanks for the warm hand on my entrance. Fnaar fnaar. That version didn't last very long sadly.

Looking foward to the super smashing marvellous gameshow next week, can't beat a bit of bully etc

Very disappointed that Michael Le Vell's wife, Janette Beverley, did not mention her well-known TV role, namely as Diane Meadows/Gallagher in Children's Ward. Still, nice to see her again!

Wasn't she 'Sharon' in BBC 80's sitcom 'Sharon & Elsie'?

That's where I know her from!

(Didn't see the show yesterday btw)

I hadn't read any of the past two or three pages of this thread, prior to last night's broadcast of Mr & Mrs. Therefore, at the time of watching, I didn't know which ITV region had originally made Mrs & Mrs.

Imagine my shock at seeing a Border ident. I didn't think that Border had made anything at all for network ever . Was there anything else whatsoever that Border ever made for network, or just Mr & Mrs?

EDIT: Come to think of it, I have vague recollections of an early-1990s(ish) Children's ITV series starring "The Krankies", ending with a Border production caption. Or did I just imagine it?

Border also made a talk show series called "Now You're Talking"... hosted by Derek Batey, of course. They also made a few children's series in the 1980s, such as "Krankies Television", "Crush a Grape" with Stu Francis, "Basil's Joke Machine" with Basil Brush and "BMX Beat".

Border also contributed to series which the other ITV regions also contributed to, such as "Morning Worship", "Highway", "Dramarama", "The Time The Place", "Ghost Train" and "Get Fresh".

I was waiting for a clip of Alan Taylor! There was also an Anglia (region only) version which I think was presented by Norman Vaughan.

BTW doesn't Derek look really old now bless him!

Ah I knew I recognised her from somewhere! Thanks for that.

Indeed, she was there at the start in 1989 through to 1996 as the on/off ward sister.

She had a part in Corrie as well in the mid 1980s as one of Curly's girlfriends. Maybe that is where she met Michael.

Yes, I too have a vague inkling of Border making other programmes for the ITV network besides Mr and Mrs. The one you refer to as "Now You're Talking" was, I think, actually called "Look Who's Talking". Of course Border made About Britain, Morning Worship or Highway when it came from somewhere in the Border TV region. In fact those three programmes were made by the local ITV company for the region in which a particular edition took place. Once when "Highway" came from Guernsey, it was made by Channel.

Why would you rather have had a HTV ident for Mr and Mrs last Saturday? (Just a reminder, sometimes it was made by Border, sometimes by HTV).

Let's assume an HTV ident would have been the HTV "aerial" used from early 1970s to around 1987. You'd then have heard the accompanying jingle:

Wall-all newl-all wah wea-wah

Is that why you'd have preferred HTV to Border?
