They can't help plugging Grease Is The Word. One of the viewer prizes in full view behind Lionel.

Just to be picky, Name That Tune was going before 1983.
It started life as part of the Thames TV show London Night Out , which lasted an hour. Name That Tune was part 2 (the middle part) of the 3-part show.
London Night Out was axed, does anyone know why? In autumn 1983 Name That Tune became a programme of its own, to fill a 30-minute slot (though in reality it was shorter due to its commercial break in the middle), hence it was longer than the middle bit of London Night Out. Consequently the standalone version had more rounds, e.g. Sing A Note, than the London Night Out version.

That is correct, Tumble Tower.
I had the misfortune of seeing Maggie Moone on the BBC stand at the Royal Cornwall Show last year...excruciating.

Well it's about to begin, so we're bound to get the 1970s/80s skyline Thames ident. Altogether now ...

Isn't that cheating - nudging the outer wheel to DOUBLE after the centre wheel had stopped on £75?
That would surely have never been allowed in Tom's or Lionel's days 70s and 80s, so why is it allowed tonight? Haven't they got an adjudicator watching to ensure no rigging is going on?

Soap Solos - that's new isn't it?
They never had that in Tom's or Lionel's days, did they?

Are you sitting with a clipboard marking everything that isn't how it was in Tom or Lionel's days?

I wouldn't say that, I'm just pointing out how there's a number of changes to Tom's and Lionel's days. Can't they make this one-off as close to reality as possible?
Regarding Soap Solos, these were the tunes:
When The Saints Go Marching In
Yellow Submarine
Congratulations
London's Burning
I got all those no problem. As for "London's Burning", I first learned that in my early years at primary school (didn't we all?), couldn't the soap star who played the Swanee Whistle have done something a bit more "adult" than London's Burning, e.g. TV theme, pop hit, classical piece?
