Jim Bowen started off being quite amusing, but halfway through he ran out of things to say and came across a bit bewildered and unhappy. Jo Brand was an excellent and unexpected choice for scorer though.

and Pauline off of EastEnders was almost kicking off when she lost!

No doubt they've already rigged the competition and have Wendy Richard appear in every single game show and win outright come the end with Play Your Cards Right.

Irony that Jamelia is playing Name That Tune next week as well.

Yet another great episode. Good to see Jim Bowen again. Look forward to Name that Tune next week.

I thought the reason they were going to have the live broadcast tonight was so they could get members of the public phoning in to have a go!

I too noticed the ATV "In Colour" ident at the start of part two, followed by the coloured opening sequence which must have been from the early 1970s.

Seeing the ATV "In Colour" ident, and hearing its jingle ...

Pee wah wah bong-bong-bung tong ting tung sha-she-ahh

...brought back fond memories of when I used to see that (albeit in black and white - we only had a B&W TV) before all ATV programmes (Pipkins, The Muppet Show, Crossroads, Sapphire and Steel et al) when I was a kid.

Interestingly this time, they had a member of the audience to give the instructions in the final jackpot game: The Golden Shot. They didn't have a viewer phoning in. Funny how they changed that from Ant and Dec's edition 18 months ago.

How do we know it was even live and not just recorded as usual?
