Well of course they're not playing the exact rules of these games. Like last week, you never got to win all of those prizes in the original version of Blockbusters did you ?

Did he really win (for the prize fund) the 50, 100 and 150 blanks prizes for getting 150 blanks? In the era of Terry Wogan and Les Dawson on BBC1, you only got ONE prize, e.g. if you got 150 blanks on Supermatch you only got the 150 blanks prize.

It's quite authentic really. It's pretty much as i remember it as a kid. Vernon is good at this gameshow lark isn't he. Blankety Blanks no5.
As for POG i've always preferred him as his alter ego Lilly Savage.

Another error: in Terry Wogan's days, the song to accompany calling the winner out of his/her seat went "Come on a Blankety Blank, Blankety Blank".

Another difference from Terry Wogan's days.
In his era, you DOUBLED UP on the head to head.
If already on 50 blanks, double to 100 blanks
If already on 100 blanks, double to 200 blanks
If already on 150 blanks, double to 300 blanks
Then you'd drop the prize you had on the Supermatch and replace it with the "double up" prize, which varied depending on whether you doubled up to 100, 200, or 300 blanks.
Why couldn't it be like the real thing tonight (with better prizes)?
