Verdict: New ITV1 Idents

Prehaps that what they were aiming at, annoys us with dull music but it sticks..

I really like the new idents, but the difference in logo size on the idents is quite annoying.

I love the new idents but the logo is too big. The size it was before was OK

I disagree, the size was too small, and didn't scream ITV1

I can understand people saying the logo is too big, as the previous size was a lot smaller, and people would be used to it. However, I don't watch ITV1 much, so can see these 'new', and have to say the logo is just the right size. I like the idents, but the soundtrack is crap, I've never liked it.

Just seen a breakbumper based on the Buildings ident, a yellow umbrella is seen at the bottom of the screen, with a tall mirrored building, I think it shimmered yellow.

I think their all good - the fountains one is brilliant (saw it for the first time at the start of HK), as is the garden one. Best batch so far.

These are certainly better. I prefer the logo being bigger, these are idents after all, no point hiding your main focus.

They have at least done some new arrangemnents for the (rather irritating) music. "Gardens" is very reminiscent of BBC One's "forest".

Presumably because of the difference in the logo size, the previous set are now defunct. I hope there will be more than 4 otherwise we will get bored very quickly!

They're not defunct - the new set are joining the previous six (I saw Pavement Art used today) which is why I think the logo size doesn't work. You now have six idents with the small logo, and four with the larger logo.

The large logo works very well in the idents, but there's no consistency between the older idents and the new idents now.

In the junctions at 7.30pm, 8pm, 8.30pm and 9pm tonight, only the new idents were used. However, the break bumpers were a mixture of new ones, old ones and Hell's Kitchen ones.

Is the logo on the new break bumpers the same size as it was on the old bumpers? I couldn't tell.

(But I like the bigger logo on the new ident. The scenes are just as pointless as before, however.)

I think they're brilliant. They're simple, and they do their job - it's refreshing to have idents that just look nice, rather than having some deep meaning according to some highly-paid marketing consultant.

They're the sort of idents that, right now, you'll hardly notice. You mark my words, though - in a year or two, when they get replaced, you'll miss them.

Better than stupid bloody circles any day.

Isn't the logo on the ident now the same size as those used on the break bumpers? Which begs the question, with the logo so big, why didn't they just place it into the middle? And another, how come the ITV1 idents are the only ones for the network where they aren't in the corner like the promo logos?
