I remember it started in the afternoons at first, The Time, The Place continued as normal in the morning slot for a bit (as did the gameshow in those days). Then it moved to the mornings and the same kind of format has stuck there since.
The only reason I remember it started in the afternoon is due to TV Weekly (a weekly show about what was happening on TV over the week
) saying how Vanessa was starting, and TV Weekly would be taking a break 'for a while' so the Vanessa show could run five days in the same slot - TV Weekly never came back.
