Wonder if announcers will be tempted to say "This is Ulster Television" over that one! Of course, the company name has even been formally changed now, so perhaps not.
The 1993 large logo ident looks wierd with the two UTV logos side by side. Reminds me that the original arrangement of the UTV Jingle is so much better than any of the what seems like hundreds of re-arrangements they've given it since 1993.

I doubt it, the only announcer who remains from the era when the station was mainly called Ulster Television is Julian; yes, Gillian, Robin and Aidan began working at UTV in early 1993 while the blue/yellow oscilloscope was still the station ident, but by that stage most, if not all, announcements referred to "UTV". I am sure the three members of the UTV Class of '93 would have done IVC or announcements leading into the blue/yellow oscilloscope as well.
...Unless anyone remembers otherwise?
EDIT: re: the telly on a stick, did the ident have a video freeze after 15 seconds? Granted, I have never seen the TOS revolve for that length of time before.
And could someone please tell the announcers not to talk over the ident - given it's Robin, he should be doing the links in-vision anyway

I stand corrected re: the Ulster Television reference. Only Robin would think of doing that (bet we get a few "on your screens" and "following nawh"s over these idents in the coming week!), so kudos to him.
I still think it would be nice to see some IVC links this week, given that the idents-within-idents weren't strictly designed for the announcer to talk over them.
The recent idents on UTV have certainly been well-produced and a real treat, thanks to all involved for the work and effort put into them.

very nice of them to dust off the old idents ... however ... why ruin them by putting them in that dodgy itv-promo-end-board-thing? i know that's what their current idents are like - but still, you'd think they could come up with something a bit more imaginative than that. even channel television have managed more inspiring hybrid idents.

Exactly what I thought. UTV's current idents are quite not-pleasent to look at due to the ITV promo endboard. I think it's a nice way they integrate old and new, but the new looks awful.
