Just thinking re: with UTV Live at Half Five on holidays at the moment, what are the presenters and reporters involved up to while the show is off-air?

I assume that Frank, and possibly Alison, are doing the weather during the main programme each evening, and that Frank's still doing the radio in the morning, but what about the rest of the crew?


Something you may be surprised to hear Col is that Robin Taylor has being doing all weather forecasts every day since the 5:30 programme went on its break!

Not a bad wee 25 minute show, but a 'cheap as chips' look to it.

Notice the rearrangement of 'The Antrim Road' start-up theme as the programme's music.

I noticed that the logo afterwards didn't mention 'UTV Rewind' or 'Ultimate Ulster', so will that the the retrospective ones done away with now?

Will you be including screen grabs etc. on UTV Today from the Rewind series at some point in the future, Stevie?

Nice to hear they used a remix of "The Antrim Road" - I wonder which part they used... Wink

I'm actually in the process of encoding full episodes of Ultimate Ulster and UTV Rewind to upload to YouTube. When I eventually get round to putting them onto UTV Today I will then offer HQ clips to download. It's quite a lengthy process so you can expect them some time over the weekend hopefully!

The first episodes of both Ultimate Ulster and UTV Rewind are now uploaded to YouTube. I'm also in the process of encoding episode 2 of Ultimate Ulster which I'll hopefully get uploaded tomorrow night.

Now the only ones I know are numbers 2, 4 and 6. Anyone care to enlighten me as to where the rest were filmed as I'm having a hard time writing descriptions for my website! Razz

5 looks as if it might be the bay East of Crawfordsburn - the final frames I think shows the former hospital at the country park at the topright (now expensive apartments which are owned by some rather famous people). So Co.Down coast on Belfast Lough just east of C'burn I'll go for.

Can I suggest that the idents are all places that will feature on Ultimate Ulster? I know for a fact that the Odyssey features on the buildings one, a a certain poster on this forum will feature on it. Wink

3 is a bit of guess work - it's not Co. Down coast on Belfast Lough and the traffic would be heavy on the Co.Antrim side. Either the east coast road on Glens of Antrim or round Strangford Lough? It's the fact the land if concreted at the water side - doesn't happen on the North Antrim Coast I think, and can't think of anywhere down Newcastle way like that (though I'm not great round Kilkeel & Warrenpoint so it could possibly be there.
