UTV replaced on satellite by Scottish

UTV on satellite was off air (black) during The Bill for almost 10 minutes, and has now been replaced by a feed of Scottish TV.

Hardly a good thing.

Sub-standard service has been restored.

At least no one noticed that BBC 2 NI, BBC 2 Scotland and BBC 2 Wales (DSAT) were all off-air yesterday evening for almost an hour.

And last night's ITV News finally went out in 4:3 after some aspect ratio problems; then into 16:9 unARCed in preparation for UTV Live, which after a few seconds switched to 14:9 in a 4:3 frame with horizontal black bars.

btw, Were there any apologies on-screen for the UTV D-Sat problems last night?

Probably not in this day and age when robots control the tranmission.
