I hate the Utv logo and colour. Bleurgh. I guess it means the brand is here to stay. Not that it is a bad thing but really... it's itv now...There was a lot of speculation that the brand would go when they moved building.

This is no more significant than the appearance of 'ITV Anglia', 'ITV Meridian' or 'ITV Wales' logos in those regional buildings.

Although ITV plc are clearly not rushing to drop the "UTV" name at the earliest conceivable opportunity, I would still be massively surprised if the eventual intention hasn't always been to bring everything they own (i.e. including UTV) under the main parent brand at some point.
99% of the station's general on-air look (idents, trailer endboards etc) is now exactly the same as in other ITV plc regions, with the actual logo placed therein being literally the only difference. And even the "U(tv)" logo is decidedly "itv"-esque. Stepping stone, surely?
The current UTV branding has not yet been on air for as long as the "hearts" dual-branding once was in most other regions. I'll be amazed if the UTV name isn't gone by either 1st January 2020, or quite soon thereafter.

And I'm not sure that me simply stating what I am inclined to anticipate constitutes an argument.
Note that I am generally careful to post things like "I am inclined to assume..." or "I will be surprised if X doesn't happen" AS OPPOSED TO claiming to definately "know" that X is going to happen when I/anyone can't possibly know any such thing, or framing opinion/fantasy as if it were fact. Unlike some folk around these parts.
And yet despite this care, some will "respond" to something other than what the words that I've typed actually sodding well say (as if I am being an "opinion-as-fact" merchant, even though I'm not).
Perhaps nobody should express any thoughts, opinions or anything else? In which case there would be literally no more posts, and this whole forum would become redundant.

ITV is the parent company, UTV is the on screen identity. What's confusing?

Indeed the only conclusion to be drawn from ITV slapping UTV branding over their newest premises must be that the whole network will be rebranded UTV by the 31st June.
I'm not sure having the same argument over whether ITV are intent on killing UTV as quickly as possible or not for the 50th time actually achieves anything...
