Interesting then that ITV Plc have deemed a +1 version of a regional PSB channel to be more commerically lucrative than a subscription nationwide drama channel.

I don't think anyone (other than certain people at ITV plc) ever regarded ITV Encore as being a good business move. It was basically a subscription version of ITV 3. Daft. I never understood the logic of it. Surprised it lasted as long as it did.

People at Sky?

Maybe - they approached ITV with a prime EPG slot, carriage and 50% of playout costs, in exchange for Sky exclusivity. The subsidies from Sky may have been a factor.

Just caught the UTV Weather, unfortunately.

I think the picture quality has got worse since the last time I watched it.

There were multiple ringing artefacts in the video, and the audio sounded like it was suffering from some sort of phase error.

Oh, and Julian spent the majority of the forecast standing in profile.

The whole thing was so distracting I've no idea what the actual weather forecast is.

Aidan on news with Julian on weather duty - a superb weekend duo. I hope that continues after the relocation.

The sad thing is, you're serious.

Well myself and all the family over the water love Julian. So each to their own.

Here's some new photos of the interior of the new place along with a few of the older ones.

Use of the ITV logo colours (such as pink and yellow) in various places, I see...

So according to Paul Clark the first UTV Live at Six is on Monday 2nd July. Is it possible that the move will be over the weekend previous with the last Live at Six Programme in Havelock House on Friday 29th June?

Looks like a carbon copy ITV Regional news set then, little dissapointing considering they could have made a few improvements, like get rid of the shiny black panels, however looks like they’ve got a nice desk top so they can actually use it as a proper desk.

Granada Reports’ first day in Media City was a Sunday so I suggest that UTV will do something similiar.

I must say I do think the screens at the back have improved and look a lot more like Windows
