Sadly, the end is nigh for Havelock House with nearly years 60 years of broadcasting history. I wonder what will see the iconic pink building on the Ormeau Road turned into.

I wasn't expecting a large studio area - but that is small. I agree regarding those black glossy areas. And the reflection of the monitors on the walls is rather hideous. Low ceiling as expected. Very underwhelming. But, I'll wait to see how it looks on screen.
The ITV News 'SPORT' logo on the monitors is intriguing. Not sure that we should read too much into that though. I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that 'UTV' will figure somewhere in their local news branding.
Interesting that the studio floor monitor has a UTV News logo... while the large background screens on the set have itv News logos. Hate the glossy black bits above & below the screens.

I don't understand how you can be underwhelmed - were you expecting something different to all the other regional news sets?

I was hoping for a more impressive variation or evolution of what they've been doing elsewhere. But seems it was not to be.

To anyone who thought there would be a large studio, you have to remember ITV want to spend the least amount of money on local news, the less the better. This is why local news on ITV has been cut back so much over the last ten years. We are lucky they have got a very reasonable set and office space.

Of all the pictures of their past they could have put on the wall in their new HQ, I’d have thought the UTV Ireland launch was one they’d want to forget!
Well, setting up a new TV operation is quite an accomplishment and I'm sure there are still people there who are quite proud of what they achieved.
And from what I recall of the 'Ireland Live' news studio, it was a pretty decent effort for an office-based set-up.
I see the old YouTube account is still in place - as is the 'Building UTV Ireland' pre-launch promo:

I don’t think anyone can be
Or those slatted white panels that’s been used in both GMB studio’s.
I do hate those black glossy bars around the top and bottom of the regional itv news sets, would they not look better in the same blue as the walls with the screens on? Luckily we don't have them in Granada Land
