'UTV News' branding on the gallery clock - a brand not used on air to date. Some 'UTV' branding in various other places. And curiously, the ITV brand colours on the glass of the gallery.
Though presumably the branding on that clock is just an image file, so trivial to change, whereas physical branding is more tricky.
Indeed. The UTV logos that we've seen so far in those interior shots are all easily replaced: stickers/pillows/electronic images. The ITV brand colours on the gallery glass is interesting.
Of course, the ITV regional brand logos still exist at the regional centres but are rarely, if ever (?) used on air. And a number of regional news programmes contain the old regional brand name. UTV could potentially go down the same route.
I am a little suspicious of Julian's new weather presenting role. Could it be the means by which he is kept on air, should continuity switch to London? Some fuss (though not that much really) was made in the local press when Julian switched to out-of-vision for continuity links in autumn 2016. Keeping Julian on air in some form would reduce any negative publicity resulting in a switch to network continuity.
Have to say though, I'd be quite happy for the UTV brand to remain on in its current form. The channel looks so much more professional now than it did pre-October 2016. And although we don't have a local voiceover on trails, I actually think our reversioned network voiceover, which references 'UTV' is preferable. In many cases, the stars/presenters of the featured shows are providing the voiceover - and having them mention the 'UTV' name is more impactful in my view.
