UTV rebrand

Since 2002, actually. the 1993 and 2000 logos were purple, not blue - they changed it to match the 2002 ITV celebs presentation package.

Reviewing the recycled idents used so far, it seemed a very different choice to introduce the lunchtime news!

Yes, very odd. And this particular ident seemed to be suffering from the odd dropped frame.

No longer 'Part of U', now 'Part of ITV'. Hmmmmm

There's a variety, any with the slower music could be used, the pigeons flying out of cages one, the slow runners up some stairs one, the lifeboat one etc

Overall it is an improvement on UTV's previous packages, which wasn't all that hard, but I've never really been that keen on ITV's package, with the exception of Pug wash, so I'm not all that excited by it.

Overall much better quality output than what was there before. Does anyone know how they have branded the crew cars would be good to see if anyone had a picture whether it is UTV or UTV live branding on them

The absence of ECP graphics is interesting. A technical limitation within the playout centre, perhaps (i.e., equipment availability/software limitations)?

What's happening now since we've moved into prime time? Still a usual UTV announcer? Live or pre recorded?

All announcements are pre-recorded. We've had Gillian Porter all day. Sound quality on these recordings is not great.

A few NI-specific idents would be of use for local programmes, perhaps?
