Looks like itv are really investing in the brand new office new signage etc etc good to see itv are sticking with utv as a brand and not just binning it off after the move as first thought
Interesting. But doesn't mean that ITV-branded trails & idents won't appear in NI. Tis no different to the regional names appearing on buildings in Emgland yet on air it's simply ITV. And...a sign is very easily replaced. That is, if a UTV logo appears on the building at all. All that said, there's always a chance they'll stick with the UTV brand. I just can't see it though.
I knew it wouldn't stop some still carrying on with the 'ITV dropping the UTV name' rhetoric. I wonder how many years of ITV owned UTV are going to be wasted as every element is dismissed as only being temporary.
Well, I drove past the UTV building on the Ormeau Road yesterday and the large UTV sign above the main entrance has been taken down, as has the welcome sign informing visitors where everything was. Wonder why they have been removed.

As I've maintained since the current UTV logo was unveiled, ITV seem perfectly content with it sitting alongside the likes of ITVBe and ITV2 as simply another brand in their portfolio (albeit a regional brand).
People seem to be judging ITV based on the consolidation of the network 15 year ago. We are in a very different climate to where we were at the turn of the century.
People need to realise that Carlton rebranded Westcountry and Central in a bid to establish Carlton as a national brand (primarily to promote Carlton.com as an online portal). It wasn't out of pure vanity. Similarly, when the rest of the network became ITV1 it was for sound business reasons. Those commercial benefits are not applicable this time around, in fact quite the reverse. ITV realise this and therefore are acting appropriately.
The Orange Tower in Salford doesn't have Itv Granada logo outside just an Itv logo on the building, so I don't think they bother to much with the regional names on the new buildings etc.

To be fair during the last few years at Quay Street aside the neon Granada TV lights, everything else was plastered with the 2006 ITV logo.
If you’ve ever walked past the orange tower or seen it at night especially the colours on the ITV logo do change.

My view on this has nothing to do with events that took place many years ago, in different circumstances. It is "a view". None of us know for certain what the outcome will be. But I'm sticking to my guns. Next year should be interesting.

It’s still there today.
Interesting. Maybe they just took them off for a clean!
