UTV still seems to be firmly stuck in Spring mode with its current idents. I wonder if the Summer set will make an appearance this weekend?
It would appear so! Amazing Hats this morning.
At least it's connected the horse racing Dont forget ITV4 if were really lucky No4 or no7 might turn up.

Right, there are 23 normal idents* it seems on UTV, which include a mix of all seasons it seems, I'm still unsure why ITV alway follows this pattern of using any old idents.
* There are some special ones but let's not complicate matters, especially since the first four horse idents never turn up etc
Interesting development is that U105 is moving to City Quays 2 as well. Which means that Frank Mitchell could potentially be keeping on his two separate roles at UTV and U105:
Quote:
This month it emerged that Belfast radio station U105 will join its former sister broadcaster UTV at the new City Quays 2 premises, but on a different floor.
The radio station, home to presenters such as Frank Mitchell, Johnny Hero and Carolyn Stewart, also leaves Havelock House next year. U105 has been part of UK media giant News UK since late last year after it was sold on, along with the six stations in the Republic also making up the Wireless Group.

I no everyone seem to love the itv idents but it just more boring live action since 2013 we have had this now does any one think it will change soon it must be due change soon
Pammie returned on Friday night with a new series of UTV Life with a refreshed set (including the Belfast skyline as a backdrop) but still the same titles and cheesy music. I am glad to see ITV didn't ditch this programme.

Just to ask are UTV still using the same set of idents? has anything new started to appear?
We were pleasantly surprised last Christmas by the inclusion of pre-recorded (I assume) Santa updates and IVC. I wonder if that’s too much to ask for a second time?
I'm sure they could have dropped a promo and have the network announcer record something at least? No? Oh.
I looked in at key points on Sunday and Monday and there was absolutely nothing. Centralised playout can have its limitations. We certainly appreciate our live continuity announcers/directors on BBC One NI and BBC Two NI more on occasions like this, where they can react very quickly to such events.
An interesting development on UTV at the moment: the local voiceovers on trails (usually provided by John Kearns) have been replaced during the last week or so by network voiceover talent - albeit they still reference "UTV". John Kearns has managed to cover the vast majority of local trails uninterrupted during the last year. But now - around the first anniversary of the updated branding - has a 12-month contract expired and are we seeing the start of a new phase? Time will tell.
