UTV rebrand

You say that, but the animation still stems from the eye when at the bottom of the screen. I imagine this is the new version due to the plain background and I'm sure the old one used to have the letters fade out piece by piece and back on again.

I agree, it's definitely the new package. Since it's a schedule filler they just needed an animation that makes sense/loop-able.

Having gone back over the recording, I thought it didn't look quite as it did when it played out on screen. I've passed the recording through a different video editor and you can clearly see that it isn't a wipe to a blank white screen, but to a grey logo on a slightly less bright white background.

Paul mentioned tonight that a new current affairs series launching at the end of the month with Sharon O'Neill at the helm. I wonder what time slot this will occupy.

Mmmm...not a fan of this lady. She needs to ease off on the overly dramatic (and often quite insincere) delivery and her penchant for dragging out every syllable of every word. Unfortunate, because there could well be a talented journalist there. I just can't see beyond the cringeworthy "style".

Does utv still not use any epg?

UTV doesn't use any ECPs since the move to Chiswick.

Which I still can't get my head around. I'm sure they must have the technical ability at Chiswick to play out two ECPs simultaneously!

Or just redesign it to not use the ITV logo, like they did with the breakdown slide.

Marc Mallett covering for Pammie on UTV Life this week. Surely this would have been a perfect opportunity to utilise Julian on screen.

The new programme starts this Tuesday, airing at 10:40 after the late UTV Live. It's being advertised as 'Up Close' in the promos, although the Sky EPG is listing it as 'UTV Up Close'.

I seem to recall they were testing one during GMB a few days/weeks before the launch?
