UTV rebrand

Technical problems with tonight's late bulletin with the picture jumping up and down with a green fuzz. Handled perfectly by Paul Clarko, of course.

The SD picture quality on UTV News (and UTV Life for that matter) is so bad. It looks even worse when watching it up scaled on UTV HD.

Ooooops full blown ITV Ident into UTV Life albeit with Gilly as announcer.

Anyone heard anything regarding Ireland Live if it will continue when UTV Ireland rebrands?

It's in the schedule until Christmas at present and I read on another forum under the TV3 rebrand the news is changing to 3 News Ireland but whether there will be news at 10pm on Be3 from the 9th January is unsure at present.

I suspect either one of the TV3 News at 8pm which is on 3e at present or the Ireland Live at 10pm will be axed probably the 10pm News as Vincent Browne is on TV3 at 11pm.

UTV Ireland is now officialy owned by Virgin Media Ireland, and will rebrand as Be3.

I wonder where they got the idea for the new name...?

Rather bizarrely UTV Ireland are currently advertising a position on the itv jobs website.

Isn't that illegal? You can't hire new people when you're making people redundant. Redundancy means the jobs no longer exist.

It's not illegal to recruit for new roles. If it is a different role/title, it's fine. Legally.
