I'm sure that ever since when UTV and STV were first downgraded to being "affiliates" to ITV plc a few years back, this included the minor compensation of having their own variants of "presenter-led" style trailers as a matter of routine.
So for things like a The Jonathan Ross Show trailer, with Wossy and all of that particular week's guests gathered on the sofa, they'd have to record the whole damn thing thrice just so he could variously say "...on ITV/STV/UTV" at the end.
I imagine that for as long as the "UTV" on-air station brand remains, this practice for trailers will remain unaltered in NI irrespective of now being in ITV plc ownership.

Your correct but there were NOT downgraded, the current deal was to sort out the mess which had been created. Mind you STV is no making more shows for ITV.
Assuming that the promo isn't being shown anywhere else (and in the case of a UTV or STV promo, it won't be) there really isn't any need to name-check the channel at all.
Never thought I'd hear you say that considering how much you disliked "Now the latest news from around the region" on YTV controlled TTTV.

Hardly a downgrade if they get more than they had before.
I know - just don't understand why they didn't adapt a similar style to STV or some of the other ITV regions when they existed obviously
Possibly a contractual thing, I'm not sure (i.e. if we cover every announcement during the day what was to stop UTV doing exactly what ITV have done now).
This is going back a long time now but Tyne Tees didn't have any morning announcements between 1993 and 1996 (bar a pre-record at 9.25 which was the same for years) when the announcer's shift was from after This Morning to around 11pm, but generally this was only a couple of announcements and they'd drag the announcer out of bed early during This Morning's off-season and cover from 10am (still with a pre-record at 9.25, but with a live announcement from the YTV announcer immediately afterwards).
So UTV's approach wasn't unique, though it must be said there's a world of difference between a few clean idents in the morning and often 9 hours of nothing in UTV's case.
Suppose between 1993 and 1996 they could get away with a lack of Morning annos- as generally was only a couple of programmes. Just never really understood the UTV approach as earlier than that they had daytime announcers as well - more likely a cost thing possibly?

There's rather a big difference between a systematic attempt to cover up the fact that you never (or hardly ever) name-check a channel in announcements, and occasionally not doing so on promos (something which has been common on the ITV network/regions and elsewhere for many decades).

Remember during that time ITV would go straight from The time the place to This morning so viewers didnt go walkes to Ann and nick, Also the regional news was at 09.55 so didn't TT also use the CA suit for local news at that time?

TT stopped using the CA for news in 1990, having phased such bulletins out over the previous year or so.
I always remembered a 5 second ident in to the 0955 Headlines, straight into The Time The Place from the local news and a 15 second ident into This Morning
