I don't think ITV will be too bothered - if anything the odd personality announcement will make it feel less of a sudden jar for those who are paying attention to these things, while at the same time most people won't care too much, and they won't have the same impact if he's not on screen.
In the grand scheme of important situations for those on the South Bank to keep an eye on, I imagine it's not even on the radar.
No we didn't get any special Halloween idents. We've still just got the same 6 or 7 that were launched on the first day. I wonder what happened to the new ones they were filming especially for UTV?!
I'd hazard a guess and say no idents were filmed here. Perhaps some visuals were shot for the UTV Live titles sequences.
The next question is what is the future of TV production and broadcasting in Northern Ireland? I think there are some parallels between the takeover of UTV by ITV and the replacement of TSW by Westcountry followed by its takeover by Carlton. A local ITV company serving the South West had been replaced by an outpost of a faceless London corporation. A big difference between the two events is that in the 1990s and early 21st century we did not have internet TV and there were fewer homes with satellite TV.
UTV has been DOGless all morning, the +1 part is the only visible thing on UTV+1.
It re-appeared at lunchtime. However, there's been a notable lack of continuity announcer on UTV during daytime hours this weekend. No end credit announcements and needless to say, nothing over the idents either. I've not watched any weekday UTV daytime in the last couple of weeks - curious to know if all pre-recorded announcements have ceased there too?
The façade from week 1 of the new look seems to have been dropped fairly quickly. I can certainly see the introduction of network announcers during daytime in the not too distant future. From a technical perspective, I'm sure it wouldn't be tricky to pass the network announcer's audio through to UTV output, whilst maintaining the on-screen UTV branding.

There have been no announcements before 6pm at any point other than day one that I have heard. I suspect it's all part of the plan to ensure that NI viewers don't notice the change. Viewers are stupid after all, right?

Because UTV was an absolute powerhouse of television production before the takeover...
