Yes, it does very much feel like a temporary technical set-up... though thankfully the last few voice overs I've heard seem to have much better audio levels. The IVC backdrop would have come from UTV's HD playout kit, it was just a pity (or perhaps a blessing) that the camera was never upgraded to HD.
The new Northern Irish ITV continuity announcer is a local voiceover artist here in NI. I don't like his voice at all, he always sounds like he has problems with his sinuses!

No we didn't get any special Halloween idents. We've still just got the same 6 or 7 that were launched on the first day. I wonder what happened to the new ones they were filming especially for UTV?!

Possibly they're going to be the idents if ITV decide to do a temporary rebrand before the move from Havelock House.
I think too much is being read into Julian dropping his style of announcements - I have heard plenty of times previously where he has delivered intros into Corrie deadpan. His OTT delivery has always been very sporadic.
A brief mention at the end of programmes programme by Paul Clark to say it's UTV's 57th birthday. Plus Julian in vision with the weather!
The big question is, will "UTV" still be around to celebrate the 60th?

Yeah right. It won't make it to 58. I'm not convinced it'll make it past 2016.
A voice-only 'now on the UTV' Coronation Street announcement will only serve to draw attention to the fact the announcers are no longer on screen - I can't see ITV being too chuffed about their careful plans being spoiled.
