UTV are so bad with playing idents. They play the beach ident ALL. THE. TIME. They play the ballet one before the news. ALL. THE. TIME.

It's such a small thing for me to complain about I know but it drives me nuts seeing the same old idents before programmes. It's kind of like a radio station playing the same song every half hour.
ITV Encore isn't even cold in its grave and at least some of the freed up capacity has already been redistributed. I've been informed that UTV+1 is now on test on Sky.
EDIT: just checked - UTV+1 definitely there, complete with '+1' DOG.

For me, it's the soundtracks that make such repetition more annoying. Funny you should mention Ballet always being used before the news. A couple of weeks ago, they used one of the Bowling idents for a short while, for news.

When live action idents are not much more than, well, live action, it tends to get rather boring - especially when there's only 10 or so sequences in circulation. The soundtracks sometimes exacerbate the issue.
As someone said to me the other day, maybe it's time things came full circle and we went back to basics. Simple logo ideas and good soundtracks.

I don't think anyone had that attitude did they? Everyone was aware there would be changes behind the scene as when any company takes over another.
Busy day for Michelle Napier with the GMB bulletins, lunchtime and now UTV Live. It seems the testing is now going on as no Paul Clark or Rose this evening.
Fingers crossed Havelock House gets a good send off but I think it will be more a muted affair. You never know though.
