Have UTV dropped the 2230 news now?

It's currently taking a summer break, returning in August. At the minute we're just getting a short bulletin like the rest of the UK.

Is it up to the announcers at UTV if they want to do IVC or is it the powers that be make that decision.Also are UTV now providing live continuity during the day .

Surprised no-one has mentioned this but Julian was on Radio 1 this morning - Scott had been in NI over the weekend and was talking about how great it is they still do IVC, and chatted to Julian for a bit. About 7.45am on listen again if you fancy hearing it!

I have to admit I was laughing my head off when Scott played Jullian's intro into Corrie, I think I might start watching the IVC more.

Back from my holidays and surprised no-one has mentioned the addition of a late night interactive quiz show to UTV called "Brain Box". It started on Monday and is supposed to air Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday nights. Tuesday night's programme was riddled with techincal problems and eventually had to be taken off air about an hour earlier than it should have done. A short filler programme "Home" was shown until they were ready to rejoin the network for the next programme. I've got a video clip of this which I'll upload to YouTube tomorrow and post the link here. Wednesday night's programme never went ahead so it'll be interesting to see whether they've sorted their techincal problems by Saturday. In the meantime, here's a video clip showing the Brain Box studio and presenter etc. This was shown during one of the ad breaks on Tuesday evening. Does anyone know where this programme is coming from? Is it being broadcast from Havelock House?

'Brain Box' is indeed for UTV - but intended to be run in NI and ROI (can you tell the £££ will be rolling in!)

It's run and produced by Ostrich Media, who run Quiz Call.

A quick wikipedia search reveals they make a show called 'Brain Box' for South Africa!
