Well that was a bit bizarre, Gillian was on duty tonight up until she introduced The Bill, now we've got Aidan Confused He's just introduced Hell's Kitchen.

In other news, we've got some new idents added to the set tonight.

UTV Tonight starts tonight at 10.30. I wonder what will be on the programme? Hope it isn't just a late night version of UTV Life?

I thought UTV were trying to reduce costs and cut their local news hours, so why axe the 5.30 show and put something on at 10.30? I do not see the sense.

Does this mean that UTV will every weeknight juggle the network schedules around as they did with the 5pm slot?

As discussed over on the NI News thread, It's not a rehash of UTV Life, it's a news bulletin that will run Monday to Thursday. It also intends to replace local current affairs stuff like Insight and Late and Live.

Not sure exactly how it will affect the late night schedule - whether programmes are recorded and time-shifted up until Nightscreen, or the 2230 programme on the ITV Network is just dropped and UTV put in a filler programme at 2300.

With her now doing weather forecasts, and the face of the new Watch to Win campaign, does this mean Pamela Ballantine has accepted her lifeline and is now heading back to continuity on UTV?

Yeah Julian apologised to analogue viewers at the end of All Star Mr & Mrs and said it was due to 'circumstances beyond our control'.

In other news, a new advert is appearing for u.tv:

Any reason why it's being shown as an advert during the ad breaks rather than as a promo at the end of the ad breaks?

Well that was certainly a bit different!

I wonder if that means Pamela will be reading the news on UTV Live Tonight tonight...

Surely an over 16 year break from continuity announcing duties is a UK record?

Also, if Pamela will be doing in-vision, what about Gillian? And Robin? And Marc? And the others?
