From Broadcast:
I can certainly think of ways of reinvigorating UTV:
1. Sack Simmons, Mitchell and Clark for starters and consider which other dead wood needs chucking
2. Get a better looking logo
3. Get some credible, uncringeworthy presenting and reporting talent - especially more young men!
4. Do idents that don't involve landscape shots of Norn Irn
5. Stop putting trashy reports on UTV Live
6. Make some programmes that are challenging, well-made but still catering to as wide an audience as possible
7. Make more use of in-vision continuity, drop the trailers and all the blatant self-promotion
It's all well and good boasting on how the website and the radio station are getting makeovers and expanded services, but don't forget what the TV stands for, please.

UTV managing director Michael Wilson has revealed plans to "completely reinvigorate" the Northern Irish broadcaster following the second phase of Ofcom's PSB review.
Wilson told Broadcast he would keep regional news and current affairs at the heart of the broadcaster's schedule and that it will introduce a weekly magazine programme called The 7.30 Show.
The programme will provide an in-depth look at arts, culture and lifestyle issues affecting Ulster. It will include features compiled by existing UTV news teams across the region, and possibly celebrities or community figures.
In addition to preserving non-news programmes including Ultimate Ulster, Wilson hopes to launch a weekly late night news and current affairs programme in spring, and has commissioned two new local programmes. The first, a travel series, will launch next month and features budget holidays within Ireland. The second is a 4 x 60-minute series by UTV and indie Dougal Media profiling unsigned local bands.
In conjunction with the overhaul, the UTV website will be re-launched to include bespoke and repositioned video content. Wilson said UTV's radio service would also be boosted to include more regional news updates.
"For us, local news is a brand builder as opposed to a bottom-line builder," Wilson said. "Our audience loves news, and those programmes consistently deliver for us, so we are investing in more. By June, UTV will have a new look and new feel."

Julian was caught off guard again tonight by his camera being put on air by mistake after the Tonight ECP! This has happened a few times recently, here's a cap of another one which happened just a few weeks ago:

The replacement for UTV Life, I assume?
Aah that would be the website relaunch that was supposedly coming at the beginning of last year! Let's hope they do the whole thing this time and don't leave the news section stuck in the past like it is now!

This new promo design was aired tonight by mistake (it was meant for tomorrow night). Could this mean we will be seeing more than just a UTV Live relaunch tomorrow??
