BBC1 seems to have its own dedicated Christmas thread so I thought I would start one for UTV. Yesterday saw the start of festive endboards on promos, seems they're using the same animation as ITV1 will be. Some of the more Christmassy programmes also have the old reindeer animation at the start of their promos. Here's some caps:

That is old! Though you can't make it out, the logo behind the raindeer is the old 1993-2000 logo.

I also captured the full screen ECP graphics. These are bit more understated than the others and simply use the fairy animation along the bottom of the screen. It is repeated for the duration of the credits:

More news on what the folk of Havelock House are bringing us over the Christmas period:

"This Christmas and New Year viewers can look forward to a great variety of local programmes for the festive season on UTV.

Frank Mitchell and Pamela Ballantine will present an extended UTV Life from 5pm to 6pm from 17 – 21 December revisiting some of the show’s magic moments from 2007 which include Alison Fleming going weak at the knees with Matt Damon and a young Belfast boy who saved his grandmother’s life among many more from the programme’s treasure trove of your stories. With the Christmas season of indulgence already upon us, UTV Life will round the year off by looking back at our presenters who battled the bulge in UTV Life’s Weigh to Go Challenge and check out how well they’ve done in the months since.

In It’s All About Daniel, A Gerry Kelly Special on Friday 21 December at 8.30pm Gerry gets exclusive backstage access to Daniel O’Donnell’s sold out UK and Ireland tour. Gerry visits the star’s home town of Kincasslagh, Co. Donegal and joins Daniel and his wife Majella as they relax in their luxurious Tenerife home.

On Christmas morning, UTV has a real treat in store for viewers as the children from Enniskillen Integrated Primary School and students from Enniskillen Integrated College celebrate the true meaning of Christmas in a special half hour programme entitled It’s a Baby on Christmas Day at 10.10am.

The champagne will be flowing at Gerry Kelly’s New Year’s Eve Party as Gerry rings in the New Year with his guests, comedian turned actor Patrick Kielty, Dana, Dickie Rock and impersonator Sean Crummey at 11.15pm on 31 December 2007. Patrick has just completed a six week run in London’s West End and 2008 will see him back in the Grand Opera House in January with A Night In November. Dickie Rock will perform Moondance and Dana will chat to Gerry about her autobiography and new album. Viewers can also expect plenty of chat and craic from funny man Sean Crummey as he gives his unique look back on the highs and lows of 2007.

In a special edition of UTV Rewind on Tuesday 1 January at 5.45pm Julian Simmons presents a festive trip down memory lane and unveils which UTV presenters have moonlighted as Father Christmas over the past 40 years? What toy was top of every kid’s wish list in 1983? Who queued up for the New Year sales at Anderson McAuley, Bank Buildings and even Warnocks? Who switched on the Christmas lights in Belfast in 1995? Are you the baby who was born in the taxi enroute to the Royal Maternity Hospital in 1966? And which legendary UTV personality was giving tips on how to make your Christmas cake taste extra special back in 1964? For all the answers and a whole lot more fun, laughs and nostalgia join Julian Simmons for UTV Rewind, New Year’s Day at 5.45pm.

Michael Wilson, Managing Director UTV Television, said; "UTV is always the most watched channel by far during the festive season and we hope to be Northern Ireland’s entertainment home once again this Christmas."

Interesting to see a regional opt-out on Christmas Day - haven't seen one of those for a few years. Looking forward to a festive UTV Rewind, as long as it's not a revised repeat of It's a UTV Christmas from last year .. and another reason to go out on New Year's Eve again Smile

In terms of presentation, I wonder if UTV will roll out a "It's all about [Jeff... sorry,] Daniel" break bumper/ident on Friday...

What's this? "Thank you" on the idents and "Thank you" on the religious film bits?

They'll be bringing back end credits at the end of their own programmes on UTV next... [and about bleedin' time!]

With or without the "It's a baby" text? If it was just the tree, then perhaps the swirly tree is an ITV creation after all.

It was just the tree, not the "It's a baby"; I didn't make that clear in my post.
