Nice to see Gillian back and with a nice healthy, natural looking tan.

Speaking of Gillian, I was doing a bit more research for Wikipedia and discover that there's a lady called Gillian Porter who does admin work for the Arts and Disability Forum in Belfast - is it the same Gillian? Would mean that the main announcers for around ten years all had other day jobs while also working as UTV announcers.

Given that Julian wasn't on duty last night, could this mean if Marc is on duty this evening he might be doing IVC?

Notice on the Radio Times website yesterday that L8 & Live is returning at the start of April. Seems its got a complete revamp with a new name, new day, new time and new presenter! It's been renamed Late & Live, its now on Mondays after the news at 10:35 and is being presented by Tina Campbell. If this image on u.tv is anything to go by, the titles etc certainly won't be anything like they were before (they couldn't reuse them anyway because of the name change):

That looks good, I was thinking that if Suzanne Cowie didn't return for this series, she'd be replaced by Marc or Sarah, but Tina will do.

Marc on UTV life

Just got an e-mail this morning to inform me that Gerry Kelly's chair and sofa from the last series of Kelly are up for auction on eBay!

Here's another surprise for them! Marc Mallett is to be co-presenter on Late & Live according to u.tv:

Marc Mallett is an award winning broadcast journalist with more than eleven years experience in the industry. He started his career at a local radio station and held the position of news editor and news anchor before leaving to join the team at UTV. Whilst at the station he picked up the 2007 CIPR Radio Broadcast Journalist of the Year and received a 2007 finalist certificate at the New York Radio Festivals in the category of News Anchor.

Marc can regularly be seen presenting the late and weekend UTV news bulletins, providing programme links and reporting for both UTV Live and UTV Life. He also is a contributor to the local UTV radio station U105.

The 29 year old says he’s delighted to be involved with Late and Live: “I’m really looking forward to the challenge of Late and Live. Live television is really exciting, interactive live television is as good as it gets! Working with Tina is such great fun. I’m getting to learn a lot from her and we have plenty of laughs when the cameras aren’t rolling!”
