UTV Presentation Thread

BBC1 seems to have its own dedicated Christmas thread so I thought I would start one for UTV. Yesterday saw the start of festive endboards on promos, seems they're using the same animation as ITV1 will be. Some of the more Christmassy programmes also have the old reindeer animation at the start of their promos. Here's some caps:

And today saw the start of the Christmas idents. I've been at work today and so have only managed to capture this one so far so I'm not too sure if they've been airing all day. Julian's on duty tonight so we'll probably be getting IVC for the rest of the evening. Anyway, here's some caps:

Haha, was just about to post about these! They look alright, not very christmasy though, like two years ago, but they'll do!

Wonder if they'll bring out the "you're home for christmas" text on the idents or somehow think of a word to incorporate the U into!

EDIT: It would also seem that the ad the The Old Curiosity Shop and the weekday's one is the only christmas promos on at the moment becuase I'm sick of seeing it!

Now I definately love the ECP! Maybe the should've used the darker tree like on the ECP in the promos

I like the swirly tree image used on the idents. Looks like instead of city centre Christmas lights, we get people's houses - I assume that the people whose houses they filmed the idents at are credited on top of the ident.

I'm hoping not just that there's a Christmas IVC backdrop, but that we don't just see it when Julian's on duty - we *might* get the odd in-vision link from Robin, but I'd like to see Gillian and the new announcers also get a look-in too.

I wonder what the full screen ECPs used on Emmerdale/Corrie/The Bill will look like. Probably just the same animation only a bit bigger?

Is anybody else thinking that ITV may have produced this swirly tree image, a bit like in 2003 where the CGI snowflakes were used on UTV first, could the swirly tree be something from ITV that UTV have added to their graphics?

Could the tree be formed by the fairy that's on the trailers? Though that sounds a bit BBC2 ish.

Slightly OT, but will there be an update on UTV Today with the current Christmas stuff and other recent developments on UTV, Stevie?

There certainly will! I'm actually in the process of uploading over 400 video clips that I've been working on behind the scenes over the past few months and once I get that completed I will be setting up the Christmas 2007 section. I'm assuming there will be more than one ident, since there was last year so I will try and capture the rest either tomorrow or Monday and upload them all together some time next week!

No sign of a festive breakbumper yet...

It's a shame they don't tell us where the people's houses are.

They're probably all from somewhere just off the Ormeau Road that's why!

I suppose out of nosiness I want to know if any of them are in the Craigavon area... so I can avoid them when I'm back home
