Oh no!

I'd assumed you WERE at home.

Well then, don't forget to log out properly, like a good little boy; then you won't get hacked, will you?

Not likely anyway, but you're right, better safe than sorry.

Isn't GMG Guardian Media Group rather than Granada?

Well spotted - yes it is Guardian, but is also used to identify Granada.

Aren't they just Granada plc? Or am I just confused as usual...??!

I believe Granada Media Group Limited does exist. According to TV Forum's Definitions page ( http://www.tvforum.co.uk/d ), GMG indicates Granada - and I treat that page with more respect than the Bible! Naturally.

As you would! However I cannot see anywhere on their corporate website to indicate they they call themselves Granada Media GROUP or even initialise it.

Well I typed Granada Media Group into Google and it came up with Granada Media Group Ltd, London Television Centre, Upper Ground... so it does exist. But I tend to agree with you that Granada Media is better than GMG, with really is Guardian.

To back up what DAS said, I do some freelance training for Granada (sadly only for their Granada Learning bit - i.e. to do with schools; mind you, that has got me a few free meals in the Granada staff restaurant and the occasional sight of Corrie actors) and the remittance advice I get showing payments definitely states:
Granada Media Group Limited
at the bottom

You can see I am bored this morning though:

Granada Group plc, incorporating Granada Media Group and Compass Group plc merged in July 2000 to form Granada Compass plc. On 1 February 2001 the demerger of Granada Compass plc became effective which completed the separation of Granada Compass’s hospitality and media businesses to create two separate listed companies: Granada plc (formerly Granada Compass plc) - a major independent media group and Compass Group plc - one of the world’s leading foodservice and hotels groups

Do you want a fight? Laughing

Granada is registered under many names - if you look at Companies House, Granada is registered as Granada plc, Granada Media Group Limited and so on and so forth, just as Carlton is Carlton Television Limited, Carlton Communications, etc. I suppose GMG is used here just to avoid having to write out Granada Media or whatever. Although, yes, I agree, GMG does rightfully belong to the Guardian Media Group.
