Don't think it's an initial arrangement, I imagine it to be a permanent thing. But who knows.

Except Westcountry and HTV were different companies. It's more similar to how ITVplc does it these days, albeit UTV is on a much smaller scale.

UTV Ireland, simulcast with ITV.

UTV Ireland also appear to be showing The Brit Awards since they are showing the preview show on 15 January.

UTV's Michael Wilson on Twitter confirming UPC Cable arrangements for UTV Ireland tomorrow:
"If you have UPC, you'll see the new channel from around 7pm tomorrow for test transmissions - EPG 110. It goes live at 7.25pm"

UPC"s EPG says different - has programmes on UTV ending at 1:40am tonight and being replaced with "Coming soon" until UTV Ireland's launch at 7:25pm tomorrow.

UTV NI stayed on past 1:40am, but was gone by this morning. Promo reel now airing on UPC with countdown to launch at the top of the screen.

Worth noting UTV Ireland HD is still FTA in the UK at the moment, they've also added a caption with 'UTV Ireland launching in 2:45:50...''

That's right, the first edition of "Ireland Live" airs Monday 18:30.
