That is strange. You would think UTV live would have a lunchtime version, than at 18pm it could have add an extra 30mins filler. Why No tipping point? nor Broadchurch?

Neither of them are sold by ITV.

TV3 retain the rights to both Tipping Point and Broadchurch, although they are not simulcasting either with ITV.

I take it UTV will be trying to buy out other shows? including Paul o grady etc

I think I would have gone for an hour-long UTV live at Five preceded by a repeat of the soaps. They could then have run The Chase between 6 and 7 against Six One and Xpose, with perhaps short news headlines at 7pm.

I assume ITV2/3/4 don't broadcast there (I know TV3 shows The Xtra Factor on the main channel), so I guess they might get access to some ITV2 shows produced by ITV Studios too.

And while they were doing that, they had to put IACHMOOH on 3e. The X Factor is staying on TV3 anyway, but it'll be interesting to see what UTV Ireland do with ITV2's Britain's Got More Talent.

Presumably Britain's Got Talent will remain on TV3 if The X Factor is considering they're both Syco productions. I think a 3 year deal was signed.

If TV3 has the rights to Broadchurch you'd think they'd be simulcasting it just to make the point they haven't lost all ITV content - and indeed still have some of their most popular programmes. I'm guessing Broadchurch wasn't as successful for TV3 as it was for ITV3 then - can't see the logic in delaying it, especially given the circumstances.

Yes. The key thing to remember avout UTV Ireland is that they don't have the rights to the entire ITV schedule, only the bits of it actually made by ITV Studios (and select other material they've bought). I'd also imagine the reason they've balked at airing Good Morning Britain, while possibly partially due to the name(though I don't think that's the obstacle some have made it out to be) but rather due to the fact that they'd have to run news bulletins during it.

Doesn't GMB handover to Lorraine? How will that be dealt with?

GMB hands over to Lorraine for a 'coming up' and then goes to a break. The program then returns with titles, so that bit would be the start for Ireland

It will be a bit odd though in that Lorraine & This Morning usually have XF / BGT items, and interviews with contestants etc. UTV Ireland basically giving a platform to shows they don't have.

That's just the same as when they talk about Strictly. These kind of shows always talk about programmes on other channels so it won't be unusual.

Equally UTV Ireland will be showing The Graham Norton Show, which is made by ITV Studios, but often tends to get BBC personalities on there, and at the moment TGNS is being shown by TV3.

I would assume as Graham Norton is mid-series (although it airs in two blocks it seems to be listed as one series) that TV3 will keep it until the end of the series at least.
